Hong Kong Transition Project performs low cost commissioned research as part of its public service to NGOs and other community groups. It also performs other policy research as commissioned by firms and governments. The political development research aspect of the Hong Kong Transition Project is a separate academic research project, of which campaign period surveys are a part. After close of candidacy (1 August 2012), only non-partisan research surveys or non-election related policy research are conducted.
